While a traditional pulling rig on a truck is excellent for high-speed transport on paved roads, the Jekko SPX309 mini crane offers distinct advantages for specific job site challenges that a truck-mounted rig cannot meet.

Here’s how this system is a game-changer for us.

Confined Space Access

The most significant advantage of the Jekko SPX309 is its compact footprint. 

• Doorway Access: At only 30 inches wide, it can travel through a standard single door or fit into a service elevator to reach upper floors or rooftops. A truck rig is physically barred from these indoor environments.
• Obstacle Navigation: Its spider-like outriggers can be adjusted to different angles, allowing it to set up over stairs, around columns, or in narrow corridors where a truck cannot maneuver.

Lower Ground Pressure

Traditional truck cranes are heavy and exert high pressure through their tires, which can damage sidewalks, fragile floor slabs, lawns or landscaping. The Jekko SPX309 uses rubber crawler tracks to distribute its weight evenly, resulting in a low ground pressure of approximately 6.25 PSI.

Precision and “Pick & Carry” Capability

Unlike a fixed truck rig, the mini crane offers superior finesse for technical installations. Using a radio remote control, the operator can stand directly next to the load for millimetric placement accuracy.

The Jekko offers added mobility while loaded. Some mini cranes feature Pick & Carry modes, allowing them to move short distances while holding a load, whereas a truck rig must remain stationary once its outriggers are deployed.

Truck-mounted rigs rely on internal combustion engines, making them dangerous to operate inside small, confined areas due to exhaust fumes.
